Reading Circle

We run a monthly reading circle where we discuss books and papers in heterodox economics, history, politics, and social science more broadly. We usually meet via video call to keep it accessible for our spread out community, and occasionally gather in person – such as at the Summer School. We keep a slow yet steady tempo in order to get a full understanding of the texts and to keep it comfortable. We just finished The Great Transformation by Karl Polanyi, and will soon start Hayek's Bastards by Quinn Slobodian.

Would you like to read with us? :) Join us for cozy discussion evenings, and let us know what you’d like to read next! Send us an email to rw.circles@intrawi.ch

Writing Circle

We run a writing circle to support and motivate each other for writing. Anyone can participate and write on their topic of choice, or follow one of our suggested themes. Meetings typically take place online, and every few months we meet in person to celebrate what we wrote and discuss future ideas. In a session, we start with a short check-in, mention what we’d like to write about, and then sit in silence and write for 30-60 minutes. Afterwards, we share a bit about what we wrote, bounce ideas, and potentially do another round of writing in silence. Between meetings, we are also open to sharing drafts to gather feedback. In the future, we are planning to launch an ITW blog to publish articles from the circle.

Are you writing a research paper? A magazine article? Or perhaps you feel an urge to write a manifesto? Join us for an extra push :) Contact us at rw.circles@intrawi.ch
